It looks like I’ve solved the remainder of the problem on my own I think there are others with this laptop who would like their touchscreen to work. Gynze there is a much more recent version I don’t think the Gunzets driver would help. From your dmesg output at a guess the touchscreen is on ttyS0. I’m happy to report that I’ve managed to get the touchscreen to work following the advice posted here and other Xorg related documentation.
Linuz is another tablet you see questions about that needs a serio driver. A Wacom stylus has an antennae.
